Welcome

It is with great sorrow that we come together today with the departure of our president and dear friend, Fr. Julio Giulietti, S.J. We have all come here to seek the truth, and to know and understand what has happened within the university walls and what has become of the reputation of WJU. In this light, please invite anyone to read the blog and feel free to comment as you wish.

Any posts with profanity are not welcome, otherwise, please speak your mind. You are a part of this university and we want to hear your voice!

Larry Unmasked

"I returned from business in London to read that some wonder about my existence.  Funny, US Immigration had no problem with my existence.  At Dulles International, they passed me right through back into the United States.  But alas, someone has caught me red handed....  They have blown my cover.....  I confess.....  I am not Larry.  I am Lorenzo.  Lorenzo Catraro as noted in my passport.

And rest assured. I am very much alive. My wife and children would be shocked to know otherwise.  The accusation of my non-existence is telling but not surprising.  What annoys some are the facts I bring to the debate about WJU.  And what annoys the most is that the facts are true."

  1. Ehi, Lorenzo! Come va? Piacere di vederti. Come sta tua madre? Abbi cura di te.

  2. This blog was once a resource for those concerned with WJU's slide into chaos and corruption. The "insider" information posted last Fall was fascinating and illuminating. The comments and emails the authors shared exposed an institution where reason took a back seat to internal politics.

I for one miss that blog.

There is much still to discuss: WJU's low retention rate, good people censored, harassed or forced out and questionable academic decisions made in the name of economic expediency (Athletic Training as a major? Kayaking as Communications as an academic class? Readers might wish to explore WJU's current catalog to see what kind of compromises this university is making to attract or keep students. What's more, they might wish to inquire as to the number of students in the ATP struggling to stay above academic probation).

Finally, we have a president with little academic experience and no degree beyond his BA—not even an academically bankrupt D.Ed.

And bloggers are making wisecracks about names with the initials of L.C? I think we can accept the value of anonymity and move on to more relevant matters. Rome is burning. It's time to drop the fiddle . . .
